In this interview Steve Brierley, CEO of Riverlane, shares the amazing potential of quantum computing and how the company he founded is working to harness this technology.

Steve explains that quantum computing has the power to transform chemistry and discover new materials. Its applications range from pharmaceuticals to batteries and solar cells through to catalytic processors and carbon capture. 

The challenge for quantum pioneers has been how to run software on the computers that they are building. Riverlane has developed an operating system that can work as a control system in different labs with different hardware. This offers a future solution to enterprises that won’t want to be tied to a particular hardware or software when using quantum applications. 

As Steve puts it, Riverlane is “selling the shovels to the gold diggers” and is at the centre of this transformative technology sector. The startup is positioned perfectly to collaborate across the quantum sector and develop solutions with all the major players.
